Mühle-Glashütte has expanded its iconic S.A.R. Rescue-Timer collection with a striking new Nautical Blue edition that captures the essence of maritime adventure while maintaining the rugged functionality that defines this celebrated timepiece.

The new colorway pays homage to the ocean with deep blue and brilliant white elements, offering both seasoned seafarers and landlocked enthusiasts a watch that combines practical utility with nautical aesthetics.

Originally developed in 2002 for maritime rescue operations, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer has established itself as a tool watch capable of withstanding extreme conditions. The new Nautical Blue variant continues this tradition while introducing a fresh, contemporary appearance that broadens its appeal beyond professional use.

Icon In A New Look

The watch features a distinctive dark blue dial that serves as a dramatic backdrop for the luminous white markers and hour indices, ensuring exceptional readability in all conditions.

This high-contrast design is not merely aesthetic—it’s a functional necessity for a timepiece designed to be legible in challenging environments. The markers and hands are generously coated with bright white Superluminova, providing clear visibility even in darkness or murky waters.

Protection and ergonomics remain central to the S.A.R. design philosophy. The specially rounded 42mm stainless steel case incorporates a soft rubber bezel—now in nautical blue—that serves dual purposes: it absorbs impacts that might damage the watch and eliminates sharp edges that could cause injury during rescue operations. This thoughtful design element also contributes to the watch’s comfortable fit, making it suitable for extended wear during demanding activities.

Functional In Its Form

Perhaps most impressive is the watch’s water resistance rating of 1,000 meters, a specification that exceeds the requirements of most professional divers and firmly establishes the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer as a serious maritime instrument.

Under the hood, the timepiece houses the reliable Sellita SW 200-1 automatic movement, which provides approximately 41 hours of power reserve. Mühle-Glashütte has enhanced this movement with their patented Woodpecker neck regulation system—an innovation that significantly improves shock resistance, a crucial feature for a watch designed to withstand rough conditions.

The movement is meticulously regulated in six positions to achieve a daily deviation of just 0 to +8 seconds, and includes practical features like a stop-seconds function and quick-date correction.

The S.A.R. Rescue-Timer Nautical Blue is available in two configurations: paired with a matching blue rubber strap for €2,100 (approximately $2,260) or with a metal bracelet for €2,250 (approximately $2,400).

With this new edition, Mühle-Glashütte has successfully refreshed its flagship professional timepiece, creating a watch that honors its purpose-built heritage while embracing a more vibrant aesthetic.

Whether facing the challenges of maritime rescue operations or navigating daily life, the S.A.R. Rescue-Timer in Nautical Blue stands ready as a reliable companion that brings a touch of ocean-inspired elegance to the wrist.
