Just one month after introducing its SUB 250T GMT collection, Doxa has partnered with Naples-based retailer Exquisite Timepieces to create two striking limited edition colorways inspired by Florida’s Gulf Coast.
The “Gulfshore” and “Afterglow” models, featuring bright blue and pink dials respectively, will be limited to just 50 pieces each. These special editions maintain the core specifications of the standard SUB 250T GMT collection launched earlier this year.
Both feature 316L stainless steel cases measuring 40mm in diameter and 10.85mm thick, with an 18mm lug width and 42.9mm lug-to-lug profile. Like their siblings, they offer flat sapphire crystals, screw-down crowns, solid casebacks, and 250 meters of water resistance.
Gulfshore vs. Afterglow
What sets these models apart is their unique colorways and distinctive details. Both feature unidirectional bezels marked in “Coraline” – a historic pale red-orange shade dating back to Doxa’s 26mm women’s SUB 200 from the early 1970s.
This same color appears on the fish emblem adorning the crown. Additionally, the casebacks feature special engravings depicting the Florida state outline with Doxa’s fish logo swimming near the Dry Tortugas islands – a favorite fishing spot of Exquisite Timepieces’ owners.
The “Gulfshore” variant showcases a cerulean blue dial inspired by Florida’s coastal waters, paired with white hands (except for the oversized minute hand finished in Coraline). This lighter blue offers a distinct alternative to the navy “Caribbean” blue found in the standard collection. Meanwhile, the “Afterglow” model features a bright pink dial celebrating Naples’ sunset skies, complemented by a fully polished handset for a more refined appearance.
Pink rarely appears in Doxa’s catalog, previously exclusive to the “Ocean Dream” mother-of-pearl dial in their SUB 200T Diamonds collection. Blue, however, is a traditional Doxa color, though the “Gulfshore” edition differs significantly from the standard “Caribbean” version. Besides its lighter hue, the “Gulfshore” features a blue and white 24-hour chapter ring with Coraline accents, contrasting with the blue-orange split-color ring of the “Caribbean” model.
Both limited editions utilize the same Swiss Sellita SW330-2 automatic movement found in the standard models. This 25-jewel caliber offers “caller” GMT functionality with independent adjustment of the date and 24-hour hand, operates at 28,800vph, and provides a 50-hour power reserve.
The watches come equipped with Doxa’s signature stainless steel beads-of-rice bracelet, featuring solid machined components and the brand’s folding clasp with integrated extension system. Each model also includes a matching nylon NATO strap (blue or pink) and arrives in a special blue and gray travel case.
Priced at $2,790 USD – slightly higher than their standard counterparts – the additional cost primarily reflects their exclusive colorways and unique caseback engravings rather than just the included extra strap. While the pink “Afterglow” may prove divisive, the bright blue “Gulfshore” offers a fresh take on Doxa’s dive watch aesthetic that’s likely to quickly attract collectors.
