Celebrating a significant horological milestone, Brew Watch Co. has unveiled its most refined creation to date: the Metric Manual Wind Limited Edition.
As the brand turns ten, founder and industrial designer Jonathan Ferrer has crafted a fitting tribute that elevates Brew’s coffee-inspired aesthetic to new heights, marking the company’s first foray into manually-wound movements and its most premium offering yet.
Brewed To Perfection
Limited to just 125 pieces—100 in sophisticated grey and 25 in vibrant blue—these anniversary timepieces retain Brew’s distinctive DNA while introducing several noteworthy refinements.
The blue variant echoes the Brew Automatic’s familiar palette, contrasting a deep navy dial with energetic red and yellow accents. True to the brand’s caffeinated roots, a yellow minute track between 25 and 35 seconds highlights the optimal espresso extraction time—a subtle reminder of the coffee bean logo adorning the dial.
Perhaps most distinctive are the new “mountain-top” applied indices, featuring a central slot that accommodates luminous material. These textured markers add considerable depth to the dial, which is further enhanced by a stepped construction: a flat outer minutes ring with numerals at ten-minute intervals surrounds a slightly sunken center.
The grey edition presents a more restrained monochromatic aesthetic, with subtle variations in grey tonality and beige lume providing understated sophistication.
The signature rounded square case remains, measuring a compact 36mm in diameter with a 41.5mm lug-to-lug span. At just 8.5mm thick, these models represent the slimmest Brew watches yet, bringing newfound elegance to the Metric collection.
A redesigned screw-down crown with pronounced knurling adds tactile interest, while the integrated bracelet now features a raised, polished coffee bean on the clasp—small refinements that collectively signal the watch’s premium positioning.
Mechanical Heart, Artisanal Soul
Beneath the sapphire caseback beats a Sellita SW210-1B caliber—the first manually-wound movement in Brew’s history. Beyond its 42-hour power reserve, this movement receives elevated finishing, including blued screws, decorative striping on select bridges, snailed gears, and a custom-engraved gear train bridge featuring the Brew logo and coffee bean motif filled with gold.
At $875, these anniversary timepieces represent Brew’s most ambitious pricing to date, yet they remain remarkably fair when considering the complete package: a Swiss manual-wind movement, intricate dial construction, and integrated steel bracelet.
While the limited production clearly positions these watches as collector’s items rather than replacements for Brew’s accessible mecaquartz offerings, they demonstrate Ferrer’s growing confidence as a designer willing to push his established aesthetic into more refined territory.
The Metric Manual Wind succeeds because it balances innovation with brand continuity. Instantly recognizable as a Brew watch from across the room, it reveals its unique character only upon closer inspection.
The additional texture provided by the new indices and crown transforms what could have been minimalist dials into dynamic visual experiences, particularly in the monochromatic grey version where light play becomes essential to the design’s appeal.
For enthusiasts who have followed Brew’s journey, these anniversary editions represent a natural evolution—a more tactile, mechanical expression of the brand’s distinctive design language.
Available now directly from Brew Watch Co., these limited timepieces offer a compelling celebration of ten years of horological creativity, filtered through Ferrer’s unmistakable caffeine-powered vision.
