Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe introduced an innovative addition to its Women’s Twenty4 collection by introducing the first perpetual calendar models, representing a sophisticated evolution of the collection while maintaining its distinctive design language.
Crafted entirely in 18k rose gold, the Patek Philippe Twenty-4 Ref. 7340/1R-001 and 7430/1R-010 both timepieces feature a refined 36mm case measuring just 8.65mm in thickness.
The integrated five-link bracelet in matching rose gold continues the aesthetic established when the Twenty~4 Automatic line was introduced in 2018. The case and bracelet showcase a harmonious combination of polished and brushed finishes, highlighting Patek Philippe’s meticulous attention to detail.
Though designed with women in mind, the versatile 36mm case size would accommodate most wrists seeking a perpetual calendar timepiece. Notably, these models present a compelling alternative to Patek’s only other automatic perpetual calendar on bracelet—the Nautilus 5740/1G—while being $41,000 less expensive yet featuring the same movement.
The collection offers two distinct dial options. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish reminiscent of shantung silk, creating an elegant, textured appearance. For those preferring a more contemporary look, the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents a vibrant blue sunburst dial that creates dynamic light reflections.
Both versions share an identical display layout with day and month indications at 9 and 3 o’clock, a moonphase and date display at 6 o’clock, and a leap year indicator positioned above the dial center. Gold applied hour markers and dauphine-style hands complete the refined aesthetic.
Redefining Elegance and Technology
Powering these timepieces is Patek Philippe’s renowned Caliber 240 Q, an ultra-thin self-winding movement that features in many of the brand’s traditional perpetual calendar references. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, offers a 48-hour power reserve, and incorporates a micro-rotor that enables its slim profile.
The perpetual calendar mechanism automatically adjusts for varying month lengths and leap years, while the moonphase complication promises accuracy for 122 years before requiring adjustment. A sapphire display caseback reveals the movement’s exquisite finishing—a hallmark of Patek Philippe’s in-house calibers.
This release marks a pivotal moment for the Twenty4 collection, which transitioned to mechanical movements and round cases in 2018, opening the door to more traditional watchmaking complications.
