As spring awakens the world around us, a horological bloom makes its debut—the SB05 Sunfl0wer. This limited edition timepiece represents a remarkable collaboration between Sartory Billard and Studio Underd0g, marrying technical precision with vibrant creativity.
Limited to just 10 pieces, the Sartory Billard x Studio Underd0g SB05 Sunfl0wer is a celebration of craftsmanship and artistic vision. The watch showcases Sartory Billard’s technical expertise while embracing Studio Underd0g’s playful design philosophy.
Refinement Meets Comfort
The 38.5mm stainless steel case, manufactured by Voutilainen & Cattin SA, measures a slender 8.5mm in thickness, ensuring comfort during extended wear.
Multiple finishing techniques enhance its aesthetic appeal—satin-brushed surfaces on the top and sides contrast with a polished bevel, while the main body features a matte media-blasted finish. A knurled, signed crown adds character, and the concave polished bezel frames the dial perfectly.
Complementing this refined case is a handcrafted Epsom Calfskin strap from The Strap Tailor. Deep forest green in color and exceptionally soft, the strap undergoes a month-long tanning process to achieve its distinctive character and comfort.
The dial is undoubtedly the centerpiece of this horological creation. Studio Underd0g’s design incorporates a grand grain guilloché pattern divided into two sections: a seed-filled inner portion and a golden outer ring engraved with twenty-four evenly spaced petals.
Creating depth and dimension, a sapphire disk printed with delicate golden hour markers and a minute track floats above the outer dial. Green hour and minute hands provide a vibrant contrast, while silver nameplates, seconds hand, and sub-dial ring maintain visual balance.
Nature and Watchmaking
Powering this artistic timepiece is the calibre SMB01, an exclusive movement based on the Swiss La Joux-Perret 7380. This manually wound mechanism operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz) and boasts an impressive 90-hour power reserve.
The movement receives meticulous finishing—grey NAC treatment with circular satin-brushed bridges, polished screws and bevel edges, and radially satin-brushed wheels—making it as visually captivating as it is functionally precise.
The SB05 Sunfl0wer will be on display at the Beau Rivage from March 31st to April 4th before becoming available on Sartory Billard’s website. This horological sunflower will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis starting April 4th at 15:00 CEST, priced at €12,700 (excluding VAT).
